Lottery licence goes up for grabs - Tuesday November 8, 2005

The national lottery regulator will today launch the competition for the licence to run the sweepstake for a 10-year period that includes the 2012 London Olympics.

Robert Foster, chairman of the project board for the National Lottery Commission, said the public body was extending the licence from seven to 10 years to encourage the winning bidder to invest more during the latter period.
