Office for Civil Society launches consultation on new £40 million fund

Office for Civil Society launches consultation for a new £40 million fund which aims to make voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations more sustainable.

The Office for Civil Society launched a consultation on a proposed sustainability fund to support effective voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations earlier this month. The fund wants to take this opportunity to work with organisations to further the development of the fund and ensure that it will meet the needs of people on the margins of society once it is launched.

The fund aims to provide medium-sized organisations with the support they need to plan for the long term in order to become more sustainable and adaptable in a changing economic environment. It will look particularly at supporting organisations delivering essential services and working with the most vulnerable and disadvantaged members of society, as well as the wider community.

The fund is set to open in 2015 and will be open to all VCSE sector organisations operating in England.

Organisations have until 24 July 2014 to respond to the consultation.
