Funding of charity contracts 'too complex' - Wednesday 8 August 2007

The National Audit Office has called on the Government to dramatically streamline the "over complex" funding system for public service contracts after research revealed one charity had to give 16 different presentations to the same local authority.

The spending watchdog examined the contracting arrangements of 12 of the UK’s largest charities and uncovered “poor funding practices” that “severely limit charities’ potential involvement in public services”.
