Government to reduce charity burden - Monday 11 December 2006

The administrative burden placed on charities by the government's regulating body is to be cut by a quarter by 2010, it has been revealed. Announcing its plans to improve the compliance requirements of UK charities this morning, the Charity Commission

The scheme will see alterations to the independent examination threshold, which will be raised to allow smaller charities to operate without being impeded by government oversight.
