Petition website for 10 Downing St - Wednesday 15 November 2006

The days of charities handing in petitions at the door of 10 Downing Street could be numbered after a decision by the Office of the Prime Minister to establish a petition website.

The office said the site would make it possible for the Prime Minister or a minister to respond without having to pay for postage and packaging.
