Negotiating a better deal for Public Sector Contracts - Tuesday 14 February 2006

We have a Government focused on the reform of public services which says that it wants the voluntary sector to play a greater role in their delivery.

In 2001/2002, 37% of the voluntary sector's total income of £20.8bn came from the statutory sector. According to an NCVO report, this is largely as a result of more income from contracts and not more grants. The Home Office has a target of increasing the voluntary sector's involvement in public services by 5% by 2006.
