Useful organisations:

Voluntary Action Leeds

Voluntary sector funding in Leeds is managed by West Yorkshire Grants, who were established in 1986 to award grants to voluntary organisations operating across West Yorkshire. A PDF booklet has been put together by West Yorkshire Grants, containing all of the small grant programmes available through Leeds City Council, as well as details of other sources of advice and support for voluntary and community sector groups in Leeds.

Leeds City Council does not have a central voluntary sector unit that manage voluntary sector funding, as grant schemes are devolved to separate departments. There is no voluntary sector support page on the council’s website; however there is a Community Grants page which is located under Community and Living - Grants, and provides contact details for the West Yorkshire Grants team and links to the 'Small Grants' booklet.

Staff in the West Yorkshire Grants team were very helpful during the research and provided us with all information required.

What is the DSC Funder Rating?

We need your help

Our ratings are by no means a final verdict, just a starting point to begin discussions about the voluntary sector’s experience of government funders. We are inviting all subscribers to share their experiences and contribute to the DSC Funder Rating. If you can help, please email us at ratings@governmentfunding.org.uk.
