Schemes:

Knowsley Council's voluntary sector funding is administered through The Community Foundation for Merseyside, which currently offer the following government funded scheme:

Employable Communities Fund

Funding is available up to £12,000 for voluntary and community sector groups that target the area of worklessness and provide opportunities that encourage people to re-enter employment through learning, and educational opportunities.

Further information on this fund and other grant schemes available from the Community Foundation for Merseyside can be found through the following link: available grants

Community Chest Fund

Knowsley Council Community Chest Fund is currently closed for applications pending a review of the programme.

For further information about all funding opportunities for community groups, please contact Knowsley Council for Voluntary Services on 0151 489 1222.

Many local authorities are now moving away from grant-making and beginning to use commissioning as a way to distribute funding to the third sector. Local commissioners can be difficult to find and identify, however NAVCA have created a guide that may help: 'Finding your commissioner'

Knowlsey CVS

Knowsley Council doesnt administer any grants schemes from the council itself, so no information is available on their website.

However, the Community Foundation website provides full and up-to-date information on all of the grant schemes that they manage on behalf of the council.

Further enquiries with the council proved to be quite difficult, however contact was eventually made with the Community Foundation for Merseyside who were very helpful and happy to answer any further queries at a later stage.

What is the DSC Funder Rating?

We need your help

Our ratings are by no means a final verdict, just a starting point to begin discussions about the voluntary sector’s experience of government funders. We are inviting all subscribers to share their experiences and contribute to the DSC Funder Rating. If you can help, please email us at ratings@governmentfunding.org.uk.
