SHIRE "Community Solutions" Grant Fund 2015-2016

The Leicestershire County Council is committed to supporting voluntary and community sector organisations to work alongside us to design and develop innovative solutions, to enable the delivery of key services for our communities. There is £260,000 available for charitable organisations involved in social actions.

The key focus of the fund will be to prioritise projects which address vulnerability, disadvantage and access to essential services.

Your SHIRE Community Grant

A funding programme which aims at helping local groups and organisations to provide community services and activities that support vulnerable people, promote independence and reduce demand for public services. There is £160,000 funding available each year and grants are up to £2,500. The Council finances projects supporting older people, vulnerable people and carers, projects encouraging young people to achieve their potential and organisations promoting an healthy lifestyle.

Stepping Stones Grants

A programme of three Grants of up to £2,500 are available for community groups, landowners and farmers within the Stepping Stones area who would like to improve their environment through schemes such as tree planting, hedge planting and the development of nature are.

Note that the deadlines for applications for each grant are different.

SHIRE Community Climate Change Grants

The Council assists projects which aim at improving energy efficiency and reduce the potential impact of climate change. Grants can reach £5,000 per applicants. Applicants must operate in Leicestershire.
