Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council has fund to finance the Voluntary Sector Support budget which provides funding for over 40 Sandwell voluntary organisations which are delivering a range of services that meet local priorities. More information is available on the council's website.

Each year, the council also operates the Community Chest Fund which consists in small grants up to £500 to support community projects. Please note that applications are currently closed. For further information and future application deadlines, contact the Voluntary Sector Team or visit the council's website.

Voluntary groups can also contact the External Funding Team to receive support and advice about external funding opportunities.

Many local authorities are now moving away from grant-making and beginning to use commissioning as a way to distribute funding to the third sector. Local commissioners can be difficult to find and identify, however NAVCA have created a guide that may help: 'Finding your Commissioner'

Sandwell Council for Voluntary Organisations

This website has an area dedicated to Voluntary Sector Support which is very informative and easy to use, with full, up-to-date information on funding and grants, the Sandwell compact and details of previously funded organisations.

The staff in this team were also helpful, informative and very knowledgeable about the council's voluntary sector funding arrangements.
