Information on grant opportunities for community organisations or voluntary groups can be found on the 'Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council Grants' page.

Users are directed to the 'GRANTnet' funding database to search for opportunities in Europen and Central government funding programmes.

More information can be found at the Dudley CVS website.

Dudley Innovation Fund

The Dudley Innovation Fund is now closed for new applications, however is expected to open again as the Innovation Bursary.

Any ideas on how the 'Innovation Bursary' could work, or if you would like to get involved, can be sent to Justin Haywood by email at justin.haywood@dudley.

The aim of the project is to support individuals who may have great ideas but not the capability or capacity to implement them by linking the together as an innovation network and encourage them to work in partnership with larger organisations who have the skills and infrastructure to implement them.

Many local authorities are now moving away from grant-making and beginning to use commissioning as a way to distribute funding to the third sector. Local commissioners can be difficult to find and identify, however NAVCA have created a guide that may help: 'Finding your Commissioner'

Voluntary Sector Funding Pages:

The council's website provides links to external sources of funding such as Advantage West Midlands, EEEC and government. Details are available here.

Awards for All

The Council website is difficult to obtain information from, as it doesn't provide a specific voluntary sector unit or funding pages. As a result, there is no additional information on the local compact, local area agreement or external funding.

Information on the 'Small Grants Scheme' was found through searching for 'Grants' in the A-Z search facility and was not signposted to from any of the main sections on the homepage. The information that does exist is also fairly basic.

However, our experience of the staff is that they are very helpful and keen to help.

What is the DSC Funder Rating?

We need your help

Our ratings are by no means a final verdict, just a starting point to begin discussions about the voluntary sector’s experience of government funders. We are inviting all subscribers to share their experiences and contribute to the DSC Funder Rating. If you can help, please email us at ratings@governmentfunding.org.uk.
