Funding body information

Doncaster Council

Ground Floor
The Council House
College Road,
01302 736000

Doncaster Council does not appear to directly fund VCS organisations. Organisations wanting to apply for funding from the council are advised to contact a suitable directorate that their project would fit under, such as Children and Young People's Services, and make contact with the department directly as no central Voluntary Sector Unit exists.

Doncaster Council further suggests contacting New Horizons and Doncaster CVS for further information and funding opportunities.

Many local authorities are now moving away from grant-making and beginning to use commissioning as a way to distribute funding to the third sector. Local commissioners can be difficult to find and identify, however NAVCA have created a guide that may help: 'Finding your Commissioner'

Useful organisations:

South Yorkshire Community Foundation

Doncaster CVS

Doncaster council appears not to make any obvious or published funding to the voluntary sector and we were unable to obtain any information on grants to voluntary sector groups from the website itself.

What is the DSC Funder Rating?

We need your help

Our ratings are by no means a final verdict, just a starting point to begin discussions about the voluntary sector’s experience of government funders. We are inviting all subscribers to share their experiences and contribute to the DSC Funder Rating. If you can help, please email us at
