Help with selecting a location

The location lists have been out together to help you find schemes that match the areas in which you operate. In order to select a location or locations you can drill down the lists.

You have the option of selecting the whole of England by clicking on the Select ALL of England button. This will add all of the English regions to the bottom box. Once you see the regions appear, press the Continue button and you can continue to build up your search.

Please note that if you select All of England, your search results may contain up to 9 records for each area based funding scheme. This is because records have been created for each region with contact information relevant to the Government Office in that region.

To select individual locations - or groups of locations...

Using your mouse, click on the region where you work and press the down a level button. The system will give you a list of the counties in that region. To drill down further, and look at districts within any of those counties, highlight the county your are interested in by clicking on it with your mouse and press the Down a level button.

When there is a match you can select from the list of suggestions by clicking on the relevant heading and highlighting it with your mouse, then clicking on the select button.

You can select more than one match by holding down the Ctrl key on your keyboard as you click with the mouse.

If you do not find a match you can try again, or browse the focus lists by clicking on Browse focuses.

Help with Keyword Searching

You can search the schemes on the site by entering a word, words or phrase into the Keyword search box.

To enter words, click in the box with your mouse and then use your keyboard to type in the term or terms you wish to search on.

You then need to specify whether you wish the search to return schemes containing all of the words you have entered, any of the words you have entered, or the exact phrase. You do this by clicking in the Match drop down box with your mouse and highlighting the way you want to search.

If you search on all words, your results will return schemes that contain all of the words you entered. So if you typed in Health education, the results will contain the words heath AND education.

If you search on any words, your results will return schemes that contain any of the words you entered. So if you type in health education, the results will include schemes that contain the words health, and also schemes that contain the word education - not only those schemes that mention them both.

If you search on exact phrase only those schemes that contains the words in the exact order you typed them will appear.
Once you have entered the term you wish to search on, you can specify whether you wish to search in the title of a scheme, or in the body of a scheme.

To search in the title of a scheme, click in the Scheme title only button.

To search in the full text of a scheme, click in the All scheme text button.

Once you are ready to search, click on the Submit button.
